LG: We Have “A Couple” Of Windows Phone 7 Phones Coming This Year

Microsoft already announced that LG was among the hardware partners that would be producing the first wave of Windows Phone 7 devices. Now, LG has also commented on that situation, saying that they’re planning to have “a couple” out before the year’s end. Nice.

Remember that LG suffered a poor recent Q2 2010, mainly led by their underperforming mobile phone and HDTV businesses.

In addition to Windows Phone 7, LG has recently recommitted their plans for Android, saying that they plan to introduce 20 Android phones to the market before the end of the year.

Regarding their underperforming phone business, PC World says that LG’s mobile phone sales were down 80% from the same quarter last year. LG said that their featurephones did well, especially in developing countries.

Their smartphones, including the poorly-reviewed LG Ally, did not sell so well. Hopefully, their ton of Android offerings and scant Windows Phone 7 offerings will have some gems for the Korean tech giant.
