possible Xbox360 250GB HDD, StarCraft II GPU issues, and more

While Microsoft has yet to confirm this tasty tidbit, the packaging of the 4GB Xbox360 S has revealed various accessories that can be bought with the device, such as Kinect, wireless Xbox360 controllers, and, a 250GB hard drive.

Apparently, such a HDD already exists, but comes bundled with the 250GB Xbox360 S, and the Halo Reach Special Edition. Speculation however, based on recent comments by Aaron Greenberg, seems to point towards a standalone release as well.

Acclaimed director of such movies as Spawn, Pan’s Labyrinth, HellBoy, and many more cult classics, Guillermo Del Toro has confirmed he has signed a deal with a "big company" to develop multiple titles.

Some of these will be announced in the coming weeks. "We're going to do games that are going to be technically and narratively very interesting…We're announcing it in the next few weeks," he said in an interview with MTV News.

Del Toro also implied that the deal will not just see rights and ideas being exchanged, but his actual direct involvement with the games. We’re big fans of the big man, and are understandably excited about this news, hoping to see some out-of-the-world storytelling and art direction from the master.

Review: 'StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty'

It took Michelangelo more than four years to complete his painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. It took Blizzard nearly twice as long to complete the next installment to their 1998 hit StarCraft. Sure they had some things to work on along the way, including a massive multiplayer online game called World of Warcraft.

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty begins with Jim Raynor and his Raynor Raiders. He is still on the run from Arcturus Mengsk, the ruler of the Terran Dominion. Raynor is also dealing with the ghosts of his past, in particular the loss of Sarah Kerrigan, now the Zerg Queen of Blades. Fan favorite Tychus Findlay also returns and starts out the game in dramatic fashion in one of the best cinematics ever made.

At the core of SCII you have the nuts and bolts of any real-time strategy game. You create your forces through the gathering of resources and building structures. The gameplay here is as good as you get. In the online matchups, you have all the units available at your disposal for the Terrans, Protoss and the Zerg.

A Whiter Shade of Pale by Apple (Leaky iPhone and More)

This is the Week of Leaks: first and foremost Wikileaks, and now the iPhone Leak. No, I’m not talking about the disappearing signal (aren’t we bored of the iPhone antenna stories yet?), this is leaking white light as reported by TheStreet.com:

"Apparently, the back light from the iPhone display screen is leaking out around the edges of the glass and seeping through the back of the white phone, according to a person familiar with the manufacturing process."

So it appears Apple can’t make a white iPhone – for now. I actually think the black one is more elegant, but of course it’s a matter of choice. HTC can claim to be first, since their white EVO is now available – but is it really white?

Apple's looks to fix iOS4 issues with the iPhone 3G

Now that Apple has pacified iPhone 4 customers with free bumper cases to alleviate antenna issues, the company is looking into problems with iOS 4 and the iPhone 3G.

For more than a month, iPhone 3G owners have raged on Apple's support forums about the latest operating system update. It's bad enough that the iPhone 3G doesn't support multitasking -- the two-year-old phone just isn't powerful enough -- but slow performance, battery drain and hot hardware are making matters worse.

On YouTube, one user created a parody video showing all the tasks performed in one of Apple's first iPhone ads, except running iOS4. The parody was three times longer than the original 30-second commercial, as the iPhone 3G stuttered its way through music, e-mail, the Internet and a phone call.

Apple told the Wall Street Journal that it's aware of the reports and is looking into the matter, but didn't explicitly say a solution was coming and didn't give a timeline.
