Atom N550 Dual Core Eee PC Coming With 13 Hours Of Battery Life

Atom N550 Dual Cor

Asus is one of the many companies who are getting ready to upgrade their netbook line with the new Atom N550 dual core chip. But they are also a company who seem to be having some trouble keeping a lid on it. So both today and yesterday, details about their new dual core netbook have leaked on the internet. They are going to bring out their first Atom N550 netbook in the form of the Eee PC 1015PE.

The Eee PC 1015PE will be the first netbook from Asus to have the Atom N550 and will also have certain other extras that will push it in to the next generation of netbooks. According to details fished out of the official product page that accidentally went online for a brief few hours, the 1015PE will support DDR3 memory, thus having a much better performance rate.

Also new would be support for both Bluetooth 3.0 and USB 3.0 standards. The Atom N550 will be in the form of a 1.5GHz dual core processor. It will come with three options for the battery — 48Whr, 56Whr, and 63Whr — which will provide for 10, 11 and 13 hours of battery life respectively. At least that is what Asus claims the performance would be like.

Other than these features, everything else seems to be pretty standard with the netbook. It will have a 10inch display with a native resolution of 1024 x 600. Even with DDR3 onboard, it will have only 1GB of memory and will run Windows 7 Starter Edition at purchase.

The Atom N550 is not the first dual core processor in this line but the last one was not meant for portables due to the amount of power it consumed. This new model is deemed fit for netbook use and said to be high performance while still only sipping from the battery reserve.

Lenovo ThinkPad T410s Is a Future Proof Device

Lenovo ThinkPad T410s
The Lenovo ThinkPad series got a new addition recently. The latest device is known as Lenovo ThinkPad T410s. It is better than the T400 and despite of its slightly high price, the notebook offers good specs and its worthy of your hard earned money.

Some specs of the T410s:

• Price – $1400 (without additional configuration)
• Default Operating System – Windows 7 64 Bit, Professional edition
• Processor – Intel iCore5 with 3Mb L2 Cache
• Default Hard disk space – 250 GB (Toshiba)
• Extendable memory

First look at the T410s will not project a perfect image. The notebook doesn’t have that flashy visage and Lenovo has a fair reason for that. The T410s was made to go on a stern diet. There is no extra weight, the inner machinery size was reduced and therefore, the entire notebook had to be slimmed down.

The T410s shares the same keyboard as of the earlier models. You can type down quickly and with ease and comfort.

Thanks to the team of experts at Lenovo, the T410s has a solid build. Adding pressure to the device at its edges doesn’t emit that creaking sound. The hinges are firmly locked at their places. Plus, if you want to make the bottom panel more secure, there is a locking latch on the bottom side. Set it to “Lock” state and your T410s will be firm as a brick.

Users can upgrade the Lenovo easily. All major panels are easy to reach. The company tried to make Lenovo T410s a future proof device. That’s why, they designed its interior and exterior with precision and care.

A Look at Lenovo's High-End Laptop - the ThinkPad W510

Looking for a high-end business laptop for yourself? One machine you should check out is the ThinkPad W510 from Lenovo (News - Alert). This notebook combines a host of high-end features that should satisfy anyone from IT professional to hard-core user. I recently evaluated the W510 and wanted to share my feedback and opinions on the computer.

The W in W510 stands for workstation, and it’s designed specifically as a powerhouse PC for professional use. That means you can use it on the job, whether you work directly for a company as an IT staffer or operate independently as a consultant. You can certainly squeeze in an occasional game or watch a video, but the W510’s graphics adapter and other components set it up as a business machine more than a gaming or entertainment unit.

Okay, so what are the specs? As with most laptops sold directly, Lenovo lets you customize the W510 with your own choices of features and components. The high-end model is powered by anIntel ( News - Alert) quad-core 2.0 GHz i7 CPU X 920 processor, a beefy and robust CPU, though you can also equip it with a less-expensive i5 processor. My unit came with 8GB of memory, but you can outfit it with as little as 2GB (not recommended) and as much as 16GB of RAM. Lenovo offers Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate as the OS—mine came with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. But you can opt for Windows XP Pro if your organization is still running the older flavor of Windows and you want to be compatible.

My unit’s 15.6-inch FHD (full high definition) anti-glare screen had a resolution of 1920x1080, offering a 16:9 aspect ratio. You can opt for the lower-rez and less-expensive HD (high definition) at 1366x768 or HD+ (high definition plus) at 1600x900. All the LCD screens include an LED backlight, which offers brighter and more vivid colors than traditional TFT-LCD screens. The most expensive option comes with a multi touch screen, so you can move and tweak objects on the screen using your fingers, courtesy of Windows 7.
