Samsung banks on multiple supplier platform

Samsung's Galaxy S series that is expected to pose a threat to Apple's iphone is currently being sold by just two suppliers. This includes AT&T and T-Mobile where the former ships Galaxy S Captivate and the later carries Galaxy S Vibrant. Both of these models went on sale in mid July this year.

However Sprint and Verizon Wireless will start off selling their variants (Epic 4G and Fascinate, respectively) very soon while U. S. Cellular and Cellular South will follow it later on.

The reason for this is that scoring sales of one million Galaxy S phones is a tedious task for the Korean chaebol and Android in general. As all the four variants of Galaxy S are highly sophisticated gadgets especially with features like a four-inch AMOLED displays and 1GHz Hummingbird processors on board.

This move by the company of harping on multiple carriers gives Samsung Mobile the opportunity to cater to a wider range of consumers.

Many competitors of Samsung have lost business because of the poor availability of devices in the past few weeks. This includes bigwigs like Motorola and HTC. Moreover with the high demand for Android based phones, this proves as a win-win situation for the company also.
