Since Apple released their iPad there have been many other companies jumping on board the tablet train. Toshiba are the latest to produce a 10.1-inch digital tablet with Android 2.2 OS called the Folio 100. The device only weighs 760 grams, making it a pretty light tablet to take around with you, plus the slimness of it makes it extremely portable. The touch screen is easy to navigate through with all the features displayed by big icons at the bottom of the screen.
Powering the tablet
The Toshiba Folio 100 uses Nvidia’s Tegra 2 to run the device. It works extremely well and powers the Folio smoothly and swiftly without any of those frustrating touch screen issues, and lets you easily make your way through the Android apps. The Folio 100 screen boasts a 1024×600 resolution that is one of the highest compared to other Android tablets. It has wi-fi support for accessing the Internet and downloading streamed content to watch, but you can also connect the 100 to an HDTV through the full sized HDMI input for better playback options.
The Toshiba tablet has some pre-installed apps like Opera Mobile and FBReader that provides you with all your ebook needs. The Folio 100 is said to have a battery life of 7 hours so you can take it out for the day and show it off with style. It also supports Documents To Go office software that’s useful for business meetings, and the nifty app Evernote takes notes down for you when in conferences. The Toshiba Folio 100 is set a price of £330 and will be available towards the end of this year.
