U.S. Cellular is entering the mobile tablet market with the Samsung Galaxy Tab. U.S. Cellular, the 6th largest U.S. mobile carrier, is joining the ranks of Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, and Sprint to offer the new Galaxy Tab. Prices and availability from U.S. Cellular have not yet been released, although Sprint has announced an anticipated $400 retail price.
Think that Android platform equals a bulky smartphone? Think again. The Galaxy Tab from Samsung is much smaller than we might expect from an Android powered device. In fact, the Galaxy Tab weighs in at 13 ounces and measures only 12 mm thick. Even with its pocket-sized stature this smart-tablet features a 7 inch display touchscreen and, perhaps more importantly, the newest version of the wildly popular Android operating system.
One interesting feature of this device is its dual cameras; one 3 megapixel camera for photos, and a second 1.3 megapixel camera located on the front just for video chat. Users can even send photos and videos to their DLNA-enabled televisions and computers with the AllShare application.
With a touchscreen QWERTY virtual keyboard featuring Swype technology, users can text quickly and easily. Preloaded apps include a navigation function, and this device may also be used as an MP3 player as well as a phone, camera, handheld GPS device, calendar, and even an alarm clock.
The Galaxy Tab features a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, and of course the Android 2.2 os. This tablet-style smartphone uses Samsung Social Hub to sync messaging, contacts, and calendar; making email, social networking, and SMS messaging easier than ever. With more mobile carriers getting in on the action availability should be increased, and the Galaxy Tab is already expected to be one of the must-have items this holiday shopping season.

Opera releases native Opera Mini client for Symbian devices [Both touch and non touch versions]
The Norwegians have given millions of Symbian device users a special gift today in the form of a beta version of the extremely popular Opera Mini application that’s written as a native application. Seems kind of backwards that the iPhone was the first platform to get a native version of Opera Mini, then Android, and then BlackBerry, and now finally, the world’s most popular smartphone platform can enjoy the benefits of going native too. Features included are: faster startup times, improved scrolling and zooming performance, better font rendering, an issue I’ve been complaining about on the Android version, and finally the ability to set a native access point, thus killing the prompt that asks you how you want to reach the internet.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, there’s a time and a place to use Opera Mini, but these days, with ultra fast mobile phones on blazing networks, the benefits that this application once provided are now no longer needed. Several years ago, when phones were running at less than 400 MHz on an older ARM architecture and 3G coverage was spotty, Opera Mini was damn near the very first app I installed when getting a new phone. Today it’s not even on my mobile, which is a shame since I’ve been such a loyal fan and evangelist, going so far as to take people’s phones out of their hand and install Mini on it. Days later I’d get a text saying “OMG, thank you!” or something to that extent.
The harsh reality however, with operators killing unlimited data plans, makes me wonder if Mini will be popular again. It is, after all, installed on more iPhones than any other device in both the UK and USA according to September’s “State of the Mobile Web”. So you know there’s a bunch of fans out there.

Dell XPS laptop range: 3D, HD and Skype enabled machines
“The industry’s first Skype-certified laptops with HD video streaming webcams so you can stay close to friends and family”, Dell excitedly enthuses. Skype, what an ingenious invention that was, and one, which in my opinion, has not had enough publicity and praise written about it. Savvy Skype users have now kissed goodbye to hefty phone bills by making internet calls for free. Skype’s wiser gains were pushed even further when webcams became a regular feature on modern-day desks, enabling the visual to be interconnected with, what was for years, a solely aural experience, and all, for Skype-to-Skype users, for free!
Although this is a review about Dell’s new XPS laptops and not about Skype, but the point I am making is that by being the first Skype-certified laptops and by incorporating HD video streaming webcams, being able to speak and watch friends and family with a higher quality, HD experience, in an extremely economic way, Dell may have come up with a winner.
Although redefining the whole Skype experience is far from the only quality of Dell’s new XPS laptops worthy of a mention.
Aurally, Dell claims these laptops produce the loudest and clearest sound the company has ever produced, and with built-in JBL designed and certified speakers with integrated MaxxAudio 3 processing technology, it is easy to understand the laptops will not fail to live up to these impressive audio claims.
Visually, the laptops sound equally as capable of producing a ‘cinema-like’ experience. Being available in both 15 and 17 inch size screens, all of these stylish laptops include NVIDIA’s 3DTV Play software, enabling users to connect their Dell XPS laptops to 3D HDTVs and enjoy watching Blu-ray 3D films, browsing through 3D photos and videos and playing games in immerse stereoscopic 3D.
We may have come somewhat complacent about valuing an immersive entertainment experience that is seemingly provided in all forms of technology, but Dell’s new family of XPS laptops really is “pushing the limits” on high-definition, 3D multimedia entertainment.

Dell Inspiron M101z Review – Laptop Power in a Netbook’s Frame
The netbook fad is largely over. The tiny laptops that the public was so enamored with less than a year ago no longer dancing in the spotlight of mainstream news articles. Any text devoted to them is usually centered on arguments over the iPad’s impact on netbook sales, which have slowed as of late.
That doesn’t mean netbooks are no longer selling in the millions, however, or that new products in this category are no longer needed. The excitement of innovation has merely been replaced with the long slog of evolution that will define the segment’s future. The Atom processor is not adequate for many users and there is plenty of room in the market for netbook sized products that provide stronger performance.
And so we have the Dell M101z, an 11.6” laptop that looks like a netbook but carries more powerful hardware inside. The question of whether the M101z is really a netbook or laptop is certainly open. Its size, price and performance makes it difficult to categorize. Given the uncertainty, I will bow to Dell’s marketing department – they’ve made the M101z a part of the Dell Inspiron laptop line rather than a part of the Dell Mini netbook line.

Bespoke computer design by Munk Bogballe
Munk Bogballe is a company based in London, UK, who have been designing bespoke bags and computers since 2007, the designs are slightly unusual to the effect that the materials used consist of top quality leather, aluminium, mahogany, pearl, gold and not forgetting the diamonds! The first thing that is noticed will be the case, metal surface: Aluminium (standard), aluminium black, 18 karat gold. The skin surface is made from a soft calf’s leather in either black, brown, red or royal blue or ostrich leather in either black or brown.

The First Laptop Build To Survive A War
The most important feature is the portability of a laptop and that’s why manufacturers are working on devices that increasingly weigh less. Things change, but when talking about U.S. military laptops, designed to withstand the forefront of the battlefield.
VT Miltope company specialized in military hardware, has launched a new line of computers that will be presented this week at AUSA conference (Association of the United States Army), which will be held in Washington.
And it turns out, these devices appear ready to resist any enemy attack came from.
RLC-3 laptop was built for the tests of sustainability of the U.S. Army, so it can survive at 26 drops from about 1 meter, while being protected against factors like water, dust, rain, electromagnetic pulse capable of destroying computers, lightning and explosive impact.
If you are interested in technical details of this laptop, you can find here. In our opinion RLC-3 is not just a laptop, is a super-laptop, a tank-laptop, so to speak.
Acer’s, Dell’s and Panasonic’s your Toughbook you can do all this? We doubt!
Unfortunatly, these laptops are not available for us.

Laptop nightmares: Scary systems with fatal flaws
The Halloween season my be winding down, but that doesn't mean there aren't still plenty of scary laptops out there. Of course, the vast majority of laptops we review are pretty decent examples of technology. After all, there are only a handful of common components used in most systems, and things such as speed and battery life are, if not standardized, at least largely predictable based on the list of what's inside the box.
That said, we occasionally run into a laptop that just rubs us the wrong way. Maybe it's a key missing feature, or terrible design, or an unusable touch pad--or sometimes products simply don't work as advertised. We've compiled our own list of the scariest laptops of 2010, the models that either had one or more frightening flaws, or else were just dogs.
Some of these are bargain basement budget systems, but don't think we're just picking on laptops that are cheap. We love inexpensive laptops, but not ones that cut so many corners that they're not a bargain at any price. Peruse our list below, and feel free to weigh in via the comments section with your own picks.

Acer Liquid Metal Android 2.2 Smartphone Gets Official
Acer has gone ahead and announced its Liquid Metal Android 2.2 smartphone following an earlier leak that we had reported. The phone will carry 3.6-inch display, be wrapped in metal, and have curved top and bottom edges. It will run Google's Froyo of Android and will utilize a Qualcomm 800 MHz processor, similar to that found on the HTC Desire Z and the T-Mobile G2 for the U.S. market. Additionally, the Liquid Metal will also have a WiFi b/g/n radio, support for 14 Mbps HSDPA networks, and a 5-megapixel camera with flash and 720p HD video recording. DLNA is also supported and Acer has also included Dolby support, like on the Nokia N8. Tethering is also supported out of the box.
There will be two color variations for the phone. The brown version will ship in November in the UK while a silver version will be coming in December. Both iterations will be priced at £299 and will feature the company's Breeze user interface.

Acer Liquid Metal Supports 14.4Mbps HSPA, New Snapdragon Chipset
Acer is rocking the smartphone space with its Liquid Metal, which supports 14.4Mbps HSPA 3G for super fast data where it’s available. Additionally, the new Acer Liquid Metal features the latest Snapdragon MSM7230 chipset that sits in the T-Mobile G2 and HTC Desire Z. As we’ve seen in tests, the 800MHz processor might not look as good on paper as the 1GHz CPUs we find in other smartphones, but it is equally capable.
The Liquid Metal runs Android 2.2, but will be coming skinned with Acer’s Breeze interface. Breeze adds some social networking and weather widgets amongst other things to give a little distinct taste to vanilla Android if you’re looking for a bit more than just the bare-bones OS. But the build quality of the phone is different, too

Nokia N8 Symbian smartphone is so good that they made a movie with it
Finnish handset producer Nokia has released a seven and a half minute long movie. So what, you might be thinking? Well, the company behind the shortfilm called 'The Commuter' produced it entirely on the latest N8 smartphone.
The device, powered by the Symbian operating system that has had very mixed reviews, has a formidable 12 megapixel camera on board that has drawn praise from anyone who uses it.
Nokia decided to underline the fact by this week promoting 'The Commuter', which stars Slum dog Millionaire actor Dev Patel along with Pamela Anderson, Charles Dance and Ed Westwick.
Using the small but highly powerful camera on board the smartphone handset, which features a 720p HD video shooting capability, directors Edward McHenry and Rory McHenry created the mini movie, based around a man who is late for his first day at work.
"I'm always interested in embracing new technology in film making and the main reason I really wanted to get involved with 'The Commuter' was because it was being shot just on mobile phones." said Patel of the completed venture."
"I wanted to encourage the next generation of filmmakers by showing that you don't need expensive equipment and big budgets to make your own movies," he added. "The quality of a camera phone, like the Nokia N8 allows filmmakers to produce amazing HD movies and I hope 'The Commuter' shows aspirational filmmakers that you can create a great movie even using a mobile phone."
Shot in only four days, the end result is likely to garner mixed reviews. And, although it may not exactly be a classic, it does once again underline the fact that the Nokia N8 has set the bar high when it comes to camera technology on smartphones. It almost makes you want to forgive them for using Symbian as the OS...

Nintendo Announces First Public Sampling of 3DS
Today along with announcements mostly relating to earnings from Nintendo came word of plans for a public (!) 3DS demo event in Japan. Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata noted that the event will be held January 8, 9, and 10 (three days over the weekend) on the outskirts of Tokyo at the Makuhari Messe convention center. If you’ll remember correctly, Nintendo held similar events for the DS and Wii in Japan as well.
Events surrounding the Wii and DS did tours of the larger cities of Japan while this 3DS event seems to be exclusive to Tokyo. You might not have to fly all the way there to get your hands on a 3DS early though, as Satoru noted that there will be “some things” planned that will allow people to play and sample the 3DS in their part of the country (Japan, of course.) So if you live outside Japan, maybe then you aught to get a ticket. If not, take a train, you know, or just hang out and you’ll get your try one way or another. This event is the first place any of the public will be able to sample the 3DS

Slumping Wii, DS sales hit Nintendo's earnings
Nintendo has endured an extremely difficult six months.
The game company lost 2.01 billion yen, or about $24.6 million, during the six months ended on September 30. During the same period last year, it generated a profit of about of about 69.5 billion yen. Revenue for the six-month period just ended was over 363 billion yen, representing a steep decline from the 548 billion yen revenue Nintendo posted during the same period in 2009.
Although sales are slumping, Nintendo said that a key reason for the steep decline in its financials can be attributed to the strength of the yen. According to The Wall Street Journal, the currency's appreciation over the past year has helped slice about 28.1 billion yen from its revenue.
But the Wii and the DS aren't helping matters either. Nintendo says it sold 6.69 million DS units during the six-month period just ended. During the same span in 2009, it sold 11.7 million DS units around the world. The company shipped 4.97 million Wii units between April and September, down from the 5.75 million Wii consoles it shipped last year.

Nintendo Wii Won’t See Price Cut in Near Future, Focusing on Bundles
Even if Nintendo isn’t seeing the profits they’d like to, and Wii sales slumping, it looks like the company isn’t planning on making any drastic changes to the working model they’ve got in place now. They still believe that the $200 price point for the console, which already has plenty of extras in the box, is the right way to go. Instead, they believe that offering up console bundles is the way to go forward.
Satoru Iwata, President and CEO of Nintendo, had a quick conversation with the Associated Press, where he took some time to talk about the Wii, and where the company stands on its sales, and what they plan on doing in the near future. While a price drop may be what people expect for the holiday season, it’s not likely to happen. “Of course, we cannot say [a Wii price cut] will never happen, but we are not thinking of it for the near future.” Iwata added that Nintend is focusing their attention on customers who may have previously wanted to buy the Wii in the past, but haven’t managed to get around to it quite yet.
And, while a price cut may be an easy way to get more people to buy the console, Iwata believes they can reach the same goal with bundles. Currently, customers can pick up a white or black version of the console, which comes with a Wii MotionPlus and Nunchuk controller, Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort, all for just $200. And, beginning November 7th, Nintendo will release the 25th anniversary edition of Super Mario Bros. console, which features the “Mario red” color scheme. That bundle, which includes Super Smash Bros., will also retail for $200.

Hope Samsung puts an LED Flash in Nexus Two
Gizmodo reports that they spoke to their source who saw the Google Nexus Two in action. If you want to be read about what's going down on November 8, read this first. In a nutshell, Google has chosen Samsung as its successor to the Nexus brand of benchmark hardware that is certified to run Android in full capacity. The first iteration, the Nexus One, was manufactured by HTC. Anyway, so Gizmodo's tipster said it is very similar to Samsung's immensely popular Galaxy S smartphone.
First and foremost, this entire debate is contrary to what Google's own Eric Schmidt has stated, when he showed his level of satisfaction with the Nexus One and said he was not interested in making a successor. One stated reason for the upgrade is the secondary video-call camera that the Nexus Two will have, which the Nexus One did not. The presence of this hardware is essential for Android 3.0 Gingerbread's video-chat feature - that reportedly works on the same protocol as Google Talk's web-based video chat client.
What that means in English is, it should be possible for you to video-call anybody on a PC too, and not just another Android phone. That trumps Apple's FaceTime, which works only within the Apple ecosystem as of now (i.e. Mac, iPhone 4 or 4th gen iPod Touch). Another reason for the switch to the Galaxy S based hardware, other than the Super AMOLED screen that makes you feel like you're on acid every time you look at it - its Hummingbird chip has three times the graphics processing power of the Snapdragon that powers the Nexus One.
But one thing that we absolutely missed on the original Galaxy S was the LED flash. Let's pray to all our Gods that Google puts that damn bulb in the Nexus Two this time.
Via : techtree
Nexus Two allegedly spotted in the wild. But is Google really readying a new phone?
A couple of hours later, analyst Sascha Segan took to PC Mag to refute the Gizmodo rumor: Google is readying a replacement for the Nexus One, Segan confirmed. But after calling around to his "own set of shadowy, unnamed sources," Segan learned the phone "may not be called Nexus Two," and it may not be revealed by Google for quite some time.
"Excitement about the 'Nexus Two' comes in part from geeks who hope the phone will ship with 'stock Android,' which is Google's default build with no carrier or manufacturer extensions," Segan wrote. "An added frisson comes from the speculative idea that it will be the first phone with the next version of Android, known as Gingerbread."
The first Google phone, the Nexus One, was built by HTC, and released in January. The phone received a warm reception from critics, but Google reportedly sold only 135,000 Nexus One handsets in the first 74 days the phone was available – not enough to qualify it for iPhone-foil status. In May, Google began offering the Nexus One – which was previously available exclusively online – in selected retail outlets, in an attempt to gin up interest in the phone.

HTC HD7 Review
The HTC HD7 wears its potential on its sleeve. The biggest of the first batch of Windows Phone 7 devices, at 4.3-inches it’s also one of the largest smartphones of any OS on the market. We’ve already given our approval to Windows Phone 7 in our launch-day reviews, and we were quietly impressed during our initial play at the HD7′s launch. Available exclusively on O2 in the UK right now, and T-Mobile in the USA from November 8, is the HD7 not just the biggest but the best Windows Phone 7 device around? Check out the full SlashGear review after the cut.

HTC HD7 Has Hidden microSD Memory Card Slot
It was initially thought that the Samsung Focus was the only Windows Phone 7 device that allowed users to replace its external storage, though you did encounter issues with the storage later. Now it turns out that the hotly-anticipated HTC HD7 can do the same too as users have found an SD card slot hiding under the Windows Phone logo. Apparently the card was even able to be replaced without encountering the storage error issue, though several factory resets and physical reinsertion of the card seemed to be necessary in order to make it work.

PSP 2 has 1 GB RAM, HD, packs more power than 360
Some new juicy bits of PSP 2 rumours have hit the net. Interesting.
Kotaku has posted a report which details that PSP 2 will support memory sticks and will have a processor which can stand up to that of the Xbox 360.
They have also stated that the device will have a larger HD display and and there will be a panel at the back of the console with a mouse trackpad, dual analog sticks and most interestingly, it will be UMD free!
They have also hinted that games can be stored on the memory sticks which is kind of confusing really. We will wait and see about that.
Kotaku also reports that the device has a whooping 1 GB of RAM ( you read that right), the current PSP has only 64 MB and even the Xbox 360 has only 512 MB of RAM!
There’s no confirmation from Sony regarding this as usual but the it’s only weeks before they reveal the device. Too much rumours flying around you know!

Leaked PSP Phone Images Show Dual Analog Controls?
We now have confirmation that the PSP Phone is indeed coming, and it could be even better than we first thought. Engagdet has released pictures of what appears to be a PSP with Android OS onto the internet (photo below). Nicknamed the Sony Ericsson-Z system, this could be the gaming phone speculated for months.
A lot of rumors can be confirmed by these pictures. The screen on the system seems to be around the same size as the PSP Go's screen and is indeed a touch screen. There is a touch pad between the two sets of buttons, containing what look like two raised sensors, possibly to provide dual analog control. It is a possibility that these would be a replacement of the current analog sticks; as seen on the pictures the touch pad does have two circles on opposite corners.
The system currently runs Android 2.x software but it is still believed that the Ericsson-Z system will be released running Android 3.0. Engadget reports that the phone sports some impressive specifications: 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 (a chip similar to the one found in the G2, but 200MHz faster), 512MB of RAM, and 1GB of internal storage. The only thing that came unexpected was the two cameras on this system, one pointing at the player and the other away.
Overall this system and phone looks simply beautiful and if speculations on graphics capability are correct, this could finally be the gaming phone many have wished for.

ViewPoint asking 499 GBP for 10-inch dual-boot ViewPad tablet
Given its official launch in London yesterday, the new pocket-friendly ViewPad tablet computer from ViewPoint will soon be available for those tech consumers not enamoured by the likes of Apple’s hugely popular iPad or Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab.
Available in two screen sizes, the smaller ViewPad 7 comes equipped with a 7.0-inch WVGA capacitive screen, version 2.2 of Google’s Android OS, a multi-touch interface, a (somewhat disappointing) 600MHz Qualcomm processor, 512MBs of internal memory, front and rear-facing cameras, Wi-Fi and 3G network support, Bluetooth 2.1, AGPS, and data storage expansion via microSD cards.
Meanwhile, the larger ViewPad 10 includes a 10-inch capacitive multi-touch screen (1024 x 600), a swift 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 processor, 16GBs of solid-state storage, Wi-Fi connectivity (what, no 3G?), a modest 1.3 mega-pixel camera (front-facing), support for mini VGA, twin USB 2.0 ports, and microSD data expansion.
Beyond its sexy screen and thoroughly capable processor, the ViewPad 10 stands apart from its competitors thanks to being the world's first tablet supporting dual-boot access to either Windows 7 Home Premium or quick-loading Google Android (version 1.6). It’s worth noting that Intel’s Atom N455 does not support version 2.2 of Android.
Interestingly, the boffins at V3.co.uk note that the Windows 7 OS doesn’t come with Microsoft Office (or even a standard 60-day trial period), an apparent shortfall ViewPoint claims came about in order to help conserve drive space.
But what of the prices attached to ViewPoint’s tablet duo come November 1? Well, the 7.0-inch model will cost 399 GBP (approx. $635 USD), while the 10-inch version is tethered alongside the iPad and Galaxy Tab with a price of 499 GBP (approx. $795 USD).
Prospective buyers should also be aware that ViewPoint is offering a 100 GBP rebate to anyone willing to trade in an operational Netbook or notebook at time of purchase—although the hardware must not be more than four years old.

Garmin Approach S1 is the GPS watch for golfers, sends that caddy back to the shack
Pack a lob wedge or extra utility iron? Punch and run or flop and drop? Crush a five iron or hit a three-quarter four? These are just a few of the questions that amateur golfers wish they had to ponder as they instead devote their time to rummaging through the brush trying to find what could be their fourth lost ball in three holes. Maybe Garmin's new Approach S1 watch can help. It's loaded with every hole from over 14,000 golf courses and, from anywhere on the course, will give you precise yardage to the front, back, and middle of the next green -- meaning it won't help your lay-up but could be just the ticket for nailing that approach. Its integrated odometer will even track how many miles you covered through the course of the day and, we're presuming, not tell your significant other whether you spent those drinking in the cart or walking at a brisk pace. The Approach S1 is available now for $249 and is subtle enough that your buddies might not even notice your new wrist-borne advantage.

Aperion's Zona wireless bookshelf surround system frees up your sound studio
Aperion Audio's Home Audio Link is already enabling content speaker owners to enjoy the spoils of wireless, but if you're in the market for a set of bookshelf speakers, the outfit's Zona system might just fit the bill.
Essentially, these monitors combine high-end audio fidelity with the aforementioned 2.4GHz wireless technology, allowing owners to plug a transceiver into a USB source up to 150 feet away and shoot all sorts of sine waves over to their two speakers. Of course, we wouldn't recommend these to casual listeners given the $499 asking price, but at least that gets you a pair of 20-watt Class D amplifiers, 4.5-inch woven fiberglass woofers, 1-inch soft dome silk tweeters and a feeling of pride that simply cannot be described in mere words. Or so we're told.

ASUS Eee Pad EP101TC getting Tegra 2 treatment ahead of March launch?
More from DigiTimes this morning and its chatty sources within NVIDIA and Taiwanese supply chains. First up is talk that ASUS' 10-inch Eee Pad -- presumably, the Android loving EP101TC said to cost less than $399 -- will launch in March of 2011 with NVIDIA's Tegra 2 taking care of the processing duties. DigiTimes' sources also remind us that Tegra 2 tablets are on the way from Dell, Samsung, MSI, and Toshiba in addition to smartphones from ASUS, Motorola, and LG. Good to know, but for as long as Tegra 2 has been discussed, we've yet to see the SoC ship inside anything worth getting too excited over. And don't even mention the Boxee Box, they switched to Intel at the last minute, remember? Maybe Dell's Looking Glass tablet will change all that when it launches any day now.

BlackBerry Bold 9780 finally official, hitting T-Mobile on November 17th for $130
After what feels like an eternity of leaks, RIM has finally (finally!) come forward with the first BlackBerry Bold to ship with BlackBerry 6. The Bold 9780 looks exactly as we expected it to (meaning not too far from the 9700 design tree), boasting an optical trackpad, QWERTY keyboard, a WebKit-based browser and a five megapixel camera. You'll also get inbuilt 3G / WiFi, and at least on the T-Mob version, UMA / WiFi calling. Geotagging your images is a breeze courtesy of the integrated GPS module, and RIM's also tossing in 512MB of Flash memory as well as a microSD slot. We're told to expect it from "various carriers around the world beginning in November," with T-Mobile USA confirming that its version will hit on the 17th of next month for $129.99 on a two-year contract.

LG Optimus 7 Comes with a Simple But Attractive User-Interface
LG has become one of the mobile makers that has decided to use the Windows phone 7 OS. The carrier’s latest Optimus 7 is powered by the new Microsoft’s OS and can be characterized as a solid mobile device.
The handset has the weight of 157 g. As the Optimus 7 is considered to be the Windows Phone 7 handset, it comes with three buttons. You can find them on the front of the handset.
The Optimus 7 features a 3.8-inch WVGA LCD display providing the resolution of 800×480 pixels. Although the resolution is not that high, but still you will be impressed by the picture’s details and bright colors.
Also the handset is equipped with a 1GHz processor, 8GB of memory, as well as 5-megapixel camera. Although the Optimus 7 is enabled with a 1,500mAh battery, still it is hoped that the Optimus 7 will be able to stand out from the crowd.
As the mobile device runs Windows Phone 7, it comes with a new user-interface, which is simple and finger-friendly. Moreover, it has a lot of room to grow. The handset is already equipped with the Zune music, Xbox Live as well as office features.
The 5-megapixles camera comes with an LED flash, which means it will support in poorly lit environments. The camera produces good shots but they are not the same from that ones delivered by a compact camera. Still the camera offers a lot of camera settings.
Another good feature of the handset is its 16GB of internal memory.
The LG Optimus 7 is cheaper compared to the HTC HD7. The handset feels solid and its interface fast as well as fresh and it is easy to use.

Samsung E65 WiFi ereader hits UK with digital stylus
Samsung’s E65 ereader has gone on sale in the UK, though you’ll have to dig a little deeper than you would for a Kindle. Currently priced at £213 ($336) through Pixmania, though apparently coming to high street retailers PC World and Currys for £199.99 ($316), the E65 has a 6-inch E Ink display, QWERTY keyboard and WiFi, along with a digital stylus for notetaking.
There’s also a user-accessible battery, 2GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, text-to-speech and MP3 support, and a 667MHz processor the company reckons should halve the regular start-up time. As for any handwritten notes, they can be made directly onto the display, and you can also sync over Outlook appointments from your PC. Whether that’s enough to make up for the absence of a huge content library, such as on the Kindle, remains to be seen.

Forget 3D TV’s -The 3D Phone Is Here! [Spice M-67 3D]
Spice mobiles seems to have this weird knack of launching phones with outrageous specs. They had a 12 megapixel camera on sale long before the Satio or the Nokia N8 were even on the horizon. That was the S1200 which also boasts of 3x optical zoom! And if you thought it took crappy pictures, be prepared for a surprise. Why are we even talking about it here.
That brings us to the phone in contention today. We are talking about Spice’s latest addition to its portfolio – the M-67 3D. Notice the 3D moniker at the end? Well, its not just a moniker. This phone actually comes with what Spice calls a “auto stereoscopic” display. This display can apparently makes things displayed on it ”more real and physical”. It also boasts of a being capable of viewing ”3D videos” without those ugly glasses. (So what would you like to watch on this thing? :D ) . The M-67 3D also boasts of a 3D image viewer. And it doesn’t end there. The phone also comes with a dedicated button that allows you to flick the phone from 2D mode to 3D and vice versa.
Now let us delve in to the device’s more phone like features. As expected, the M-67 3D is a dual SIM handset. The back is adorned with a 2 megapixel camera that should be enough to capture pictures decent enough to be seen ona 3D display. The rest of the features are the standard fare. It gets expandable memory and can take microsD cards of up to 16 GB.

Dell Venue Pro to be released with Android OS inside: Will the Specs, Features & Price Tag be same as those of the Windows Phone 7 version?
How would you like to take a Dell Venue Pro home, that has Android inside? No, this is not a contest and we are not giving away one (Like we are with the iPad and the iPhone for free) that is specially made for you. But if the latest news leaking out from Dell is to be believed, then you could actually be getting one sometime in the future. That is right, Dell is indeed busy designing an Android version of the Dell Venue Pro, which currently runs on the Windows Phone 7 OS. So how will the new Dell Venue Pro running on Android look like?
Remember that the Venue Pro that is now out on Windows Phone 7 sports a QWERTY sliding keypad and a 4.1 WVGA AMOLED capacitive display. On the inside is 1GHz Snapdragon chip with 512 MB RAM. There is also the 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus and flash. So will the Dell Venue Pro, if and when it comes on Android, sport the same look and features?
For starters we seriously expect that 512 MB RAM to go up. That was a limitation put by Microsoft so that all Windows Phone 7 mobiles have a level platform for the OS. But with the Venue Pro on Android, Dell can get the RAM up for sure. Yes, there will be a few Android-related button changes, but other than that, most could remain the same. Even the price tag should be very similar as that would make the Android handset competitive.
So when can we expect the Dell Venue Pro with Android inside to get out? Hopefully soon as then we could see a direct face off between WP7 and Android on the same handset!

Twitter Trends: Justin Bieber movie, Walkman, Take That tour dates
Pint-sized Canadian popstar Justin Bieber is making waves in the Twittersphere this morning after Paramount Pictures released a trailer for his upcoming bio-pic.
Yes, that’s right, next February fans will be able to see the ’struggles’ that the 16-year-old has been through to get to the top of his game … and what’s more it’s in 3D … like everything these days, even real life.
Entitled Never Say Never, the trailer is a celebration of the human spirit, reminding us we must never give up on our dreams … however old we get … that’s right, if you’re 15 and still trying to break into the music industry, there’s still a chance.
‘They said it would never happen, they said he would never make it … but YOU never stopped believing’ … and now YOU’VE reaped what you sowed.
Of course Bieber online is a phenomenon matched only by the might of Lady Gaga, so the hashtag #neversaynever3D has rapidly ascended to the the number one Twitter trend today, largely fuelled by adoring fans watching the trailer (which you can see here) again and again.
However, as always, not everyone has nice things to say about the youngster, as perennial Twitter cynic Lord_Voldermort7 (I don’t know what the other 6 are up to) proves with his rather witty and astute point: ‘Bieber’s movie’ll be in 3D? So it’ll seem like he’s in front of you, but you can’t hit him? It’s like a nightmare!’
Elsewhere, the news that the Sony Walkman will no longer be made has been attracting attention in the Twittersphere for a couple of days now.
Yes, that’s right, although no one has bought a cassette in over a decade, little did you now, Sony have been plugging away all these years producing Walkman’s still, presumably exclusively for museums and landfill … well, it’s over, Sony have said enough is enough … they need more time to concentrate on their new ranges such as portable laserdisc players, 8-Track players, minidiscs and the quite revolutionary portable LP player.
Richardroeper summed up what we were all thinking when he said: ‘Sony announces it will no longer make Walkman cassette players. In other news, Sony was still making Walkman cassette players?’ and DjinnieUK struck a chord with my childhood when he Tweeted: ‘I always wanted a Walkman and all I ever got was portable cassette players, much like those kids with shitty mp3 players who ask for an ipod’
RIP Walkman … you would be missed … if it was 1995.
And finally, talking about 1995, that was the last time #takethat toured together as a five piece.
The band has captured the imagination of the micro-bloggers today as tour details have been released for the band’s stadium extravaganza in 2011 … and yes Robbie Williams is on board, I can hardly wait.

Current Twitter trends: Android Market, Gregory Isaacs, Karva Chauth
"ZOMBIE COUGARS" is a promoted term at the top of Tuesday's chart being used to generate chatter about the video game Red Dead Redemption.
Sony's decision to stop selling Walkman cassette players keeps "Walkman" in fifth place, and the death of Jamaican reggae musician Gregory Isaacs puts his last name in sixth place.
Tweets announcing the "Android Market surpasses 100,000 apps: can't stop, won't stop growing" have resulted in Google's "Android Market" gaining the seventh spot in Tuesday's chart.
Both "Karva" and "Chauth" feature in Twitter's most talked about topics on October 26 as married women in India and Pakistan take part in the one-day Karva Chauth festival by fasting and praying for long life, well being and prosperity for their husbands.
In ninth place is the name of both a fictional character in the Halloween films and comedian and actor "Michael Myers."
