How would you like to take a Dell Venue Pro home, that has Android inside? No, this is not a contest and we are not giving away one (Like we are with the iPad and the iPhone for free) that is specially made for you. But if the latest news leaking out from Dell is to be believed, then you could actually be getting one sometime in the future. That is right, Dell is indeed busy designing an Android version of the Dell Venue Pro, which currently runs on the Windows Phone 7 OS. So how will the new Dell Venue Pro running on Android look like?
Remember that the Venue Pro that is now out on Windows Phone 7 sports a QWERTY sliding keypad and a 4.1 WVGA AMOLED capacitive display. On the inside is 1GHz Snapdragon chip with 512 MB RAM. There is also the 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus and flash. So will the Dell Venue Pro, if and when it comes on Android, sport the same look and features?
For starters we seriously expect that 512 MB RAM to go up. That was a limitation put by Microsoft so that all Windows Phone 7 mobiles have a level platform for the OS. But with the Venue Pro on Android, Dell can get the RAM up for sure. Yes, there will be a few Android-related button changes, but other than that, most could remain the same. Even the price tag should be very similar as that would make the Android handset competitive.
So when can we expect the Dell Venue Pro with Android inside to get out? Hopefully soon as then we could see a direct face off between WP7 and Android on the same handset!
