Halo: Reach, Bungie's last foray into the Halo universe, doesn't ship until September 14, but a handful of hackers have already managed to download and play the game, and, much to Microsoft's chagrin, spoilers are now coursing through the tubes.
Bungie and Microsoft made Halo: Reach available for download on Xbox Live on Monday for select media outlets. Today, a handful of modding communities are boasting they were able to successfully crack the security code, download and play the full game.
"We are aware of claims being made regarding a security exploit related to Halo: Reach and are aggressively investigating the matter," Microsoft said in a statement. "We have no further details to share at this time."
Various gaming forums, including Bungie's own, are springing Reach leaks with spoilers galore, and Bungie is warning Halo fans to steer clear of the boards less they learn crucial details about Reach before they get to experience it for themselves.
